ALQHA Hi-Point Saddle & Halter Series  

 

2024 Year-End Saddle & Halter Awards

Saddles/halter will be awarded to one horse/rider all-age/all-division pair. This pair may compete in every class they are eligible for but must show in at least 3 of the 5 ALQHA hosted shows. Current ALQHA membership required for points to be counted. You cannot show a Walk/Trot and a Lope class in the same discipline, cannot show ranch and regular trail at the same show, and cannot show ranch riding and western pleasure at the same show. Awards will be given at the 2024 ALQHA Year-End Awards Banquet (January 2024, date TBA).

Points will be calculated from ALQHA hosted and sanctioned shows following the kick-off date of May 24, 2024 to include:

1. ALQHA Summer Sizzler in Andalusia, Alabama (May 24-27, 2024)
2. MSQHA Summer Show in Meridian, Mississippi (June 1-2, 2024)
3. ALQHA Summer Palooza in Rainsville, Alabama (August 2-4, 2024)
4. TQHA Circuit in Murfreesboro, Tennessee (September 12-15, 2024)
5. Charles Tidmore Memorial Classic in Rainsville, Alabama (October 26-27, 2024)
6. Heart of Dixie Classic in Meridian, Mississippi (November 15-17, 2024)

Point Earning Classes for Performance High Point Saddle
1. Western Pleasure: L1 Open, Junior, Senior, L1 Amateur, Amateur, Amateur Select, L1 Youth, Youth 13 & Under, Youth 14-18
2. Horsemanship: L1 Amateur, Amateur, Amateur Select, L1 Youth, Youth 13 & Under, Youth 14-18
3. Trail: L1 Open, Junior, Senior, L1 Amateur, Amateur, Amateur Select, L1 Youth, Youth 13 & Under, Youth 14-18
4. Western Riding: L1 Open, Junior, Senior, L1 Amateur, Amateur, L1 Youth, Youth
5. Hunter Under Saddle: L1 Open, Junior, Senior, L1 Amateur, Amateur, Amateur Select, L1 Youth, Youth 13 & Under, Youth 14-18
6. Equitation: L1 Amateur, Amateur, Amateur Select, L1 Youth, Youth 13 & Under, Youth 14-18

Point Earning Classes for Ranch High Point Saddle
1. Ranch Riding: L1 Open, Open, L1 Amateur, Amateur, Amateur Select, L1 Youth, Youth 13 & Under, Youth 14-18
2. Ranch Trail: Open, Amateur, Youth
3. Working Western Rail: Open, Amateur, Youth
4. Reining: Open, Amateur, Youth

Point Earning Classes for In-Hand High Point Halter

1. Any Youth, Amateur or Open Halter class that the horse/showman pair is eligible for
2. Showmanship: L1 Amateur, Amateur, Amateur Select, L1 Youth, Youth 13 & Under, Youth 14-18
